One of the most useful tools for the shoot was using the free app BLENDER for our pre-visualization. We basically created a small animation of the set, actors, and camera moves for every "master" shot in the film.
We played back these animations before each shot so we could quickly and easily recreate the look we were trying to achieve.
Honestly, we tried a bunch of "pro" solutions to create pre-viz and storyboards, but nothing was as effective (and obviously as affordable) as BLENDER.
